Esther is a director in the workers’ compensation practice group. She represents employers, carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insureds before the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission and Virginia Court of Appeals. 

Esther is an experienced trial attorney who routinely defends against injury by accident claims and disease claims. She has extensive experience litigating willful misconduct claims, unexplained accidents, and complex medical issues. 

Esther also advises clients on settlement options, appellate issues, coverage issues, and Medicare set Asides.

Esther is licensed to practice law in Virginia, and formerly, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Esther earned her J.D. at Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. Upon graduation, she began her career representing injured workers before the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court. She then joined McKenney Quigley Izzo & Clarkin and focused her practice on insurance defense litigation. Esther relocated to Virginia in 2010 and practiced workers’ compensation defense with a private firm before joining McCandlish Holton.
