Description: The Immigration Practice Group at the law firm of McCandlish Holton is seeking to hire an immigration paralegal. Our Immigration Practice Group provides visa services and immigration advice to businesses, colleges and universities, school systems, researchers, professional athletes, entertainers and individuals across the country and around the world. We advise U.S. and foreign clients on all aspects of obtaining U.S. work visas as well as the hiring and transfer of international personnel.

Our Paralegals and Attorneys work in a fast-paced team environment. The successful candidate should be detail oriented, energetic, accurate and able to handle a high volume of work.

College degree is preferred with at least one year of work experience.

This position is not remote and is located at our Richmond, VA office. The role is highly writing-intensive, so candidates with a background in journalism, news writing, or editorial work are strongly encouraged to apply.

Our Paralegals and Attorneys work in a team environment that is fast-paced, high-pressured and deadline intensive. We seek talented team members who are well organized, detail oriented and adaptable with the willingness and ability to learn and implement a defined prioritization system.

Successful candidates will have demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills and be able to read and understand what they are reading at an advanced level.

Description: McCandlish Holton, PC. is hiring for an Accounts Payable / GL Accountant to join out Administrative Department in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Full cycle accounts payable processing – to include vendor invoice and payment request entries, vendor set-up, and check/ACH payment processing.
  • Process a high volume of check requests with awareness of tight deadlines.
  • Conduct reconciliations of vendor statements to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
  • Maintain vendor records and all accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist in the month-end/year-end closing process by ensuring all payables are recorded.
  • Manage the conflicts process.
  • Back-up for firm’s payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve payment issues and improve processing efficiency.
  • Demonstrate standards of performance (attention to detail, ownership, teamwork, communication, ability to multi-task) that support customer satisfaction and principles of service excellence.
  • Strong organization skills to include filing and management of A/P documentation and vendor records.
  • Assist in accounting projects or perform other duties as time permits or as needed.
