Pete is a Director in the Workers’ Compensation and Litigation practice groups.  

He focuses his practice on the defense of worker’s compensation matters, insurance coverage, and insurance defense.

He represents self-insured employers and insurance companies, as well as uninsured small businesses and individuals in all state and federal courts throughout Virginia.

Pete represents clients in a wide range of industries, including the insurance, retail, short-term employment, manufacturing, transportation, oil and gas, and hospitality industries.

He has particular expertise in cases involving alleged traumatic brain injuries and sexual assaults in the workplace. He enjoys working on complex cases to solve difficult problems for his clients, helping them become more efficient and effective while reducing their legal liabilities.

Pete graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where he graduated with honors. 

Before bringing his defense practice to McCandlish Holton, Pete was the head of Civil Defense Litigation at one of the largest law firms in Virginia. He also worked as a commercial litigator at a large firm headquartered in Houston.
