Brennan is a litigation and business attorney in the firm's Litigation, Business, Real Estate & Finance , and Intellectual Property practice Groups. Brennan advises clients in contract negotiations and disputes, purchases and sales, business entity formation and management, and business dissolutions. She further assists businesses with commercial lease review and negotiation and zoning compliance matters. Brennan also advises businesses as to their intellectual property interests including trademark searches and registrations, copyright analysis and registrations for single and multi-author works and collections, and provides counsel to clients regarding trade secret protection and management, ICANN proceedings and DMCA take-down actions, and related litigation.
In her Litigation practice, Brennan represents corporations, small businesses and individuals in state and federal courts throughout Virginia. Her primary practice areas include premises liability and security, transportation, restaurant and retail liability, products liability and insurance coverage. With experience in business, real estate, and intellectual property matters, Brennan is able to advise businesses and individual for litigation avoidance and equally able to provide counsel should litigation ensue.
Brennan earned her J.D. at the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law where she gained practical experience as an associate in the In House Counsel Clinic, working with a Richmond based company in corporate, real estate and litigation matters including products liability claims. She also served as a member of the Client Counseling and Negotiations Board throughout law school. Brennan gained useful litigation experience serving as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Michael L. Moore in the Russell County Circuit Court and later while working as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia prosecuting misdemeanor and felony criminal cases.
Prior to joining McCandlish Holton, Brennan worked for a general corporate and civil litigation law firm focusing on business planning and intellectual property matters and related litigation.
