Trish is a director in the
firm's Litigation Department, where she
concentrates her practice in environmental and
risk management litigation. She was recognized
by Virginia Business Magazine as one of
Virginia's “Legal Elite” environmental attorneys
for 2003 and 2004.
As a risk management litigator,
Trish handles business tort litigation,
including defamation and tortious interference
claims, toxic tort, mold contamination, and
other tort based cases and matters. Trish's
environmental practice consists of litigating
federal and state environmental cases, assisting
clients in the sale or purchase of potentially
contaminated property and obtaining appropriate
zoning, building and land use permits for
clients. She also negotiates with governmental
agencies and local governments to obtain
successful business results.
Prior to joining McCandlish
Holton, Trish was an associate with a large firm
in Charleston, West Virginia, where she was a
member of the Litigation and Environmental
Departments. While there, Trish defended nine
municipalities against federal Clean Water Act
citizen suits and/or state enforcement actions
for alleged NPDES permit violations.
Trish is chairperson of the
firm's Employee Volunteer Program and is on the
firm's Recruiting Committee. She is chair of the
Richmond Bar Association's Environmental Section
and is a member of the Bar's Continuing Legal
Education Committee as well. Further, she is a
former board member of Circle Center Adult Day
Care Services, is an adjunct professor at the
University of Richmond Law School and mentors
children in the Young People's Community
Choir.
Licensed in both Virginia and
West Virginia, Trish is a member of the Virginia
Bar Association, West Virginia Bar Association,
Richmond Bar Association and the Metro Richmond
Women's Bar Association.
