Jeremy W. Martin is a member of the firm's Bankruptcy, Corporate, Real Estate & Finance and Litigation Practice Groups. Jeremy represents clients in a wide array of bankruptcy matters, bankruptcy litigation, leasing disputes, landlord and tenant litigation, general corporate matters, contracts, business issues, corporate formation, commercial transactions and real estate transactions. He routinely counsels lenders and other creditors on bankruptcy proceedings and debt restructuring agreements.
Prior to joining McCandlish Holton, Jeremy served as Law Clerk to the Honorable William F. Stone, Jr. in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Virginia. His experience as a Law Clerk places him in a unique position to handle the intricacies of bankruptcy proceedings and to counsel clients on bankruptcy related matters.
Jeremy is a graduate of Yale University, with a degree in Political Science. After college, he attended Washington and Lee University School of Law and graduated in 2006. At Washington and Lee, Jeremy was a student attorney at the Community Legal Practice Center where he provided pro bono legal representation to residents of the Rockbridge-area community. His pro bono experience included representing the victims of domestic violence, residents over the age of 60, and local non-profit organizations.
Jeremy is a member of the Virginia Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the Richmond Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for both the Eastern District of Virginia and the Western District of Virginia.
