Samantha Stecker Otero

Samantha (“Sam”) Otero is a skilled litigator, with extensive trial experience in federal and state courts across the Commonwealth. She is a member of the litigation group and focuses her practice in the area of employment law counseling.
As an employment attorney, Sam often advises clients on the requirements they face in the areas of hiring, promotions, layoffs, discipline, discrimination, EEOC complaints, overtime, leave and benefits.
Sam also handles allegations of harassment and disputes arising out of employment contracts, including covenants not to compete. She routinely defends management before state and federal agencies in employment-related disputes.
In addition, Sam has worked with Virginia wineries and breweries, assisting them in the ABC licensing process and in the defense of those licenses before the ABC. She also helps them navigate the ABC’s regulatory framework so they are more familiar with their rights and obligations as licensees and owners.
