Genevieve K. Dybing and Dominic P. Madigan were honored by the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce at its Board and Chairman's Circle Meeting for their service as General Counsel to the Chamber during the 2002-2003 year. Gen Dybing served as General Counsel Team Leader, fielding all corporate legal issues brought by the Chamber. Dominic Madigan provided extensive assistance with protecting and licensing Chamber software.

Thomas McCandlish and Chunhua Li were part of a panel discussion entitled "Hong Kong and China Reunited: Opportunities and Challenges—A Business, Legal and Historical Perpective." The event was sponsored by the Richmond Virginia Chapter of the US-China Peoples Friendship Association.

Attorneys from McCandlish Holton's Real Estate and Finance Group participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony honoring the successful redevelopment of Midlothian Village Apartments as affordable housing. Governor Mark Warner, Lieutenant Governor Timothy Kaine, Mayor Rudolph McCollum, Jr., Susan Dewey, the Executive Director of the Virginia Housing Development Authority, and John Taylor, the Chief of Multifamily Asset Management for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development also participated in this event. Allan Buffenstein and Peter Henderer of McCandlish Holton assisted RST Development, Triangle Construction, and Hercules Real Estate Services in the acquisition, financing, and rehabilitation of Midlothian Village Apartments, utilizing tax advantaged financing strategies provided by affordable housing tax credits to provide high-quality, affordable housing to the citizens of Richmond.

Topics included Recent Noteworthy Caselaw and Statutory Amendments Involving the Virginia Workers' Compensation Act and What You Need To Know About RSD/CRPS (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome).
